Job summary

RR is seeking a hands-on Head of Commercial & Operations (MD) to lead a long-established SME servicing drainage, utilities, groundworks, civil engineering and related sectors. Located near Maidenhead, you will work with the Board to shape strategy, oversee delivery and drive sustainable growth across the business.

You will balance strategic governance with practical operational oversight, lead from the front, nurture key client relationships and ensure safety, quality and service excellence

Qualifications

Senior leadership experience within SME, contractor, utilities, construction or related settings.
Strong commercial acumen with accountability for revenue growth and profitability.
Experience leading field-based or contractor-led operations.
Hands-on leadership style with frontline credibility.
Proven ability in bids, tenders, contracts and partnerships.

Responsibilities

Develop and deliver the company's strategy, vision and growth plans.
Drive revenue growth, profitability and long-term performance.
Lead day-to-day operations across a field-based service business.
Build a collaborative, accountable culture and develop the team.
