Job summary

Joshua Robert Recruitment Limited is seeking an Executive Cost Consultant to join a leading independent construction and property consultancy in Newcastle. You will lead cost management from pre-contract through to completion, managing procurement, cost plans, budgets and final accounts on high-value projects within the built environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction or related discipline.
• MRICS preferred but not essential.
• Strong pre- and post-contract experience.
• Experience on high-value built environment projects.
• Consultancy experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement, tendering and contract processes, including NEC 3/4.
• Prepare cost plans, estimates, budgets, forecasts and detailed cost reports.
• Monitor project costs, cash flow, risks, changes and contingencies.
• Manage valuations, compensation events, claims and final accounts.
• Analyse design changes, benchmarking and market costs to identify value opportunities.
• Provide proactive cost and commercial advice to clients.
• Build strong client and stakeholder relationships and act as a key project contact.
• Manage multiple projects, budgets and resources.
• Support and mentor junior team members.
• Contribute to business development and wider initiatives.

What our client is looking for

• Degree qualified, preferably in Quantity Surveying, Construction or a related discipline
• MRICS preferred, but not essential
• Strong pre- and post-contract experience
• Experience on high-value built environment projects
• Consultancy experience strongly desirable
• Background in sectors such as commercial, residential, office, fit-out, healthcare, education or industrial
• Strong cost planning, estimating, procurement and cost management skills
• Knowledge of NEC 3/4 contracts
• Excellent client-facing, communication and leadership skills
