Job summary

Hatched Recruitment Group in Belfast is seeking a Senior Cost Manager to lead the commercial management of diverse projects across Northern Ireland. You will work with clients, project teams and senior leadership, influencing procurement, cost planning and final accounts.

Ideal candidates are degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, MRICS preferred, with strong pre/post-contract experience in a consultancy. Knowledge of JCT/NEC contracts and CostX would be advantageous in this senior role.

Qualifications

• Degree required in Quantity Surveying or related field.
• MRICS preferred; candidates working toward chartership considered.
• Strong pre- and post-contract experience in a consultancy environment.

• Excellent commercial acumen and stakeholder management.

Senior Cost Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Cost Manager to join a leading construction and cost consultancy in Belfast. This is a key role within a growing team, offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of projects across Northern Ireland and the wider island of Ireland.

You will take a lead role in the commercial management of projects, working closely with clients, project teams and senior leadership. The role offers excellent exposure across sectors including commercial, healthcare, education, residential, infrastructure, public sector, regeneration and mixed-use developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the cost management of projects from pre-contract through to completion
• Prepare cost estimates, cost plans and tender documentation
• Provide procurement advice and undertake tender analysis
• Manage valuations, change control, cost reporting and risk
• Lead final account negotiations and commercial management
• Provide expert cost and commercial advice to clientsBuild and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships
• Support business development and the growth of existing client relationships
• Provide leadership, guidance and support to junior team members

About You

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• MRICS preferred, although candidates working towards chartership will be considered

• Strong commercial awareness and analytical skills
