Job summary

Joshua Robert Recruitment Limited is seeking an Executive Cost Consultant in Glasgow to take ownership of cost and commercial activities from pre-contract to completion on high-profile projects within the built environment.

You will work closely with senior clients and Project Managers, applying NEC contract knowledge, and mentoring junior team members while delivering value across diverse schemes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified, preferably in Quantity Surveying, Construction or a related discipline.
• MRICS preferred, but not essential
• Strong pre- and post-contract experience
• Experience on high-value built environment projects
• Consultancy experience strongly desirable
• Background in sectors such as commercial, residential, office, fit-out, healthcare, education or industrial
• Strong cost planning, estimating, procurement and cost management skills
• Knowledge of NEC 3/4 contracts
• Excellent client-facing, communication and leadership skills

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement, tendering and contract processes, including NEC 3/4
• Prepare cost plans, estimates, budgets, forecasts and detailed cost reports
• Monitor project costs, cash flow, risks, changes and contingencies
• Manage valuations, compensation events, claims and final accounts
• Analyse design changes, benchmarking and market costs to identify value opportunities
• Provide proactive cost and commercial advice to clients
• Build strong client and stakeholder relationships and act as a key project contact
• Manage multiple projects, budgets and resources
• Support and mentor junior team members
• Contribute to business development, recruitment and wider G&T initiatives
