Job summary

Academics is recruiting an Exclusion Room Manager for an outstanding secondary school in Tower Hamlets, East London. The role focuses on day-to-day management of the Exclusion Room and supervising internally excluded pupils to keep them engaged with work and learning.

You will work with teaching staff and the Inclusion Department to promote positive behaviour, resilience and reintegration into mainstream lessons, within a supportive team and with strong CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a secondary school or similar setting.
• Experience in behaviour management, pastoral support or inclusion.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and consistently.
• High expectations of student behaviour and achievement.
• Strong communication skills and resilience.
• Commitment to inclusive education and improving outcomes for young people.

Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day running of the Exclusion Room.
• Supervise students internally excluded from lessons.
• Ensure students complete work and stay engaged with learning.
• Promote positive behaviour, respect and personal responsibility.
• Support reflection on actions and consequences of behaviour.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and the Inclusion Department.
• Help reintegrate students into mainstream lessons.
• Maintain a safe, structured learning environment.
