Job summary

Cottenham Village College is seeking an organised Exams Officer to join our supportive staff team. This full-time, permanent role starts September 2026 and offers responsibility for planning, administering and delivering exams across the college.

You will coordinate entries, timetables and invigilators, ensure JCQ compliance, maintain records and provide data to inform school improvement, with a strong focus on safeguarding and accurate data handling.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Produce, analyse and report examination and assessment information to support school improvement.
  • Prepare performance data for subjects, year groups, student cohorts and senior leaders.
  • Support SLT by providing timely and accurate information to inform interventions, progress monitoring and student support strategies.
  • Liaise effectively with staff, students, parents and external organisations on examination-related matters.

Key Responsibilities

As Exams Officer, you will play a pivotal role in the planning, administration and delivery of all internal and external examinations across the college. Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and coordinating all aspects of the examination and certification process.
  • Administering examination entries and registrations with awarding organisations.

  • Organising appropriate access arrangements and support for students with additional needs, including readers, scribes and other approved adjustments.
  • Maintaining accurate examination records and student data.
  • Producing, analysing and reporting examination and assessment information to support school improvement.
  • Preparing performance data for subjects, year groups, student cohorts and senior leaders.
  • Supporting the Senior Leadership Team by providing timely and accurate information to inform interventions, progress monitoring and student support strategies.
  • Liaising effectively with staff, students, parents and external organisations on examination-related matters.
