Job summary

Miltoncross Academy in Portsmouth is seeking enthusiastic invigilators to cover the main examination periods in January, March, May, June, November and December. We are looking to appoint suitably enthusiastic and / or experienced individuals as a bank of Invigilators to cover the main examination periods of January, March, May, June, November and December. These posts are casual contracts with hours and days varying according to needs of the school. Appointed invigilators will be responsible for supervising examinations under the direction of the Examinations Officer. No experience is necessary as full training will be given, but applicants should have good communication skills and be able to adhere to strict guidelines as set out by the Examination Boards. Invigilators need to be over 18, reliable and punctual, highly flexible, able to relate to learners. It’s a part-time role, but one that can make a real difference.

Successful applicants will be able to work alone or as part of a team, have a good eye for detail and be able to remain calm under pressure.

You will need to have:

• Flexibility in working hours and ability to offer medium term commitment
• Good organisational skills - Reliability and punctuality
• Willingness to work as part of a team
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate to students

Previous experience of working in a school environment is desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided.
