Exam Invigilator Role in Northamptonshire
I am looking for Exam Invigilators. The role involves conducting examinations in Northamptonshire.
The successful candidates will work effectively in a busy school environment, ensuring the integrity of both internal and external exams is maintained.
Main Responsibilities
Before exams
- Report to and be briefed by the exams officer prior to each exam session.
- Keep confidential exam question papers and materials secure before, during, and after exams.
- Ensure exam rooms are set up according to requirements.
- Admit candidates into exam rooms under formal exam conditions.
- Identify and seat candidates according to required arrangements.
- Distribute correct question papers and exam materials to candidates.
- Instruct candidates on exam conduct.
- Deal with candidate questions.
- Start exams.
During exams
- Supervise and observe candidates at all times, remaining vigilant.
- Minimize disruptions in exam rooms.
- Handle emergencies or irregularities effectively.
- Record and report incidents, disruptions, or irregularities.
- Complete attendance registers.
- Address candidate questions according to regulations.
After exams
- Instruct candidates on finishing exams and collect scripts and materials.
- Dismiss candidates from the exam room.
- Check candidates’ names on scripts and match details on attendance registers.
- Securely return all exam scripts and materials to the exams officer.
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience as an exam invigilator.
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service.
- Up-to-date knowledge of the national curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive learning environment and promoting student well-being.
- Flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in a dynamic educational setting.
- Completion of a Safeguarding course or a recent certificate (within last three years). All candidates must commit to safeguarding and protecting the welfare of children and young people.
