Opportunity for experienced events lead: take the helm at Ocean Suite & Events – Exmouth’s premier destination for weddings, corporate functions, live entertainment, and community celebrations.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Senior Events Manager to lead all aspects of event sales, planning, marketing, and operations at Ocean Suite & Events. This is a pivotal role for a seasoned professional with a proven track record in managing a diverse portfolio of events – from elegant weddings and gala dinners to business conferences, themed parties, and large-scale seasonal functions such as beach parties and BBQs.

You will be responsible for driving business growth, nurturing client relationships, and ensuring the flawless delivery of every event. As a senior leader, you will inspire and develop a high-performing team, cultivate new business opportunities, and position Ocean Suite as the venue of choice for exceptional and innovative events.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead and oversee all day-to-day operations of Events, maintaining the highest standards of service and guest experience.
  • Drive event sales through proactive relationship-building with clients, partners, and local businesses.
  • Design and deliver a diverse and creative event calendar, including weddings, corporate events, dinners, conferences, live entertainment, and unique seasonal functions.
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate a skilled events team to consistently exceed client expectations.
  • Manage all aspects of financial performance – budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and revenue growth.
  • Collaborate closely with marketing to maximise event exposure across digital, print, and social channels.
  • Identify and develop new market opportunities and partnerships to enhance and expand event offerings.
  • Ensure full compliance with all licensing, health & safety, and food hygiene regulations.

ABOUT YOU

Essential:

  • Significant experience in senior events, hospitality, or leisure management, with a proven ability to deliver and grow a varied event portfolio.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the end-to-end management of events, from initial sales and concept development through to seamless delivery and post-event review.
  • Commercially minded, with a strong track record of driving revenue and managing budgets.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills – able to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Organised, decisive, and adept at solving complex problems under pressure.
  • Passionate about delivering memorable experiences for clients and guests at high-profile events.
  • Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of compliance and safety.

Desirable:

  • Hospitality or event management qualification (NVQ, Diploma, or Degree).
  • Experience managing large-scale, high-value events across multiple formats and audiences.
  • Strong IT skills, especially with Microsoft Excel and event management systems.
