Job summary

Searcys seeks an Events Driver/Logistics Porter in London. You will load and unload equipment, drive to events, and ensure timely deliveries. The role requires a valid UK driving licence and comfort with manual handling.

You’ll work with the on-site events team to maintain safety and organisation across prestigious London events. As part of a historic catering house founded in 1847, you’ll gain insight from skilled colleagues and contribute to a storied legacy in hospitality.

Qualifications

• Full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
• Physically able to perform manual handling.
• Experience with driving in London (desirable).
• Enjoys working in a team but capable to work alone.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload equipment for events.
• Drive and deliver to events.
• Ensure route planning and safe driving following traffic laws.
• Keep BOH areas tidy and deliveries stored properly.
• Coordinate with on-site events team for smooth operations.

Job description

This role is perfect for someone who has an interest in hospitality and catering logistics as this role has the potential to develop into other roles in our business.

Job Type: 0 Hours Contract

Hourly Rate: £15.00ph

Key Responsibilities:

• Loading and unloading equipment into vehicles returning or being dispatched to events.
• Smooth and efficient turnaround of catering equipment and vehicles.
• Working to detailed checklists and ensuring everything is accurate.
• Driving and delivering to events.
• To follow traffic laws and correctly calculate the route to the venues.
• Safe use of company vehicle, ensuring the vehicle has enough petrol for each journey.
• Excellent communication skills working closely with the on-site events team
• Competent and experienced driver with UK or EU licence.
• Working in accordance with Searcys Health and Safety and Manual Handling Policies.
• Ensure all the BOH areas are tidy by putting away all the deliveries
• Ensure the Wine cellar is tidy and organize after every delivery.

Qualifications

• Full, clean, manual/Automatic UK Driving Licence (essential)
• Personable, responsible and reliable
• Experience with driving in London (desirable)
• Be physically able to do manual handling (lifting and carrying)
• Enjoys working in a team, but motivated to work alone
• Previous Hospitality experience
