Job description

Events Assistant Volunteer

Basis: Minimum 1 x 3 hour shift, with potential for more. Shifts within The Hub opening hours; please indicate availability on the application form. The Hub is open Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 10am-6pm, and Sunday, 11am-5pm. (Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

Section: Volunteer support

Reporting to: Green Hub Coordinator

Location: Based in The Glades, Bromley

Responsible for: Creating a supportive, non-judgemental, and engaging experience for visitors and volunteers in our Green Hub

DBS Check: Some duties may require a DBS check

About the role

The Hub from Greener and Cleaner seeks volunteers for our regular events. Skills in:

  • Customer-facing roles
  • Event planning
  • Fundraising
What will you be doing?

Providing a supportive, judgement-free, and engaging environment where visitors learn about climate change and actions they can take. Your role is key to delivering a positive experience at our events within a diverse community.

Who are we looking for?

Individuals with excellent communication skills, comfortable approaching and meeting new people, preferably with experience in customer-facing roles, event planning, or fundraising. Must be over 18. Social media experience is a plus but not essential.

What difference will you make?

You will be part of a pilot project that could expand across the UK, creating a blueprint for community engagement on climate issues. Your contribution helps encourage small, meaningful actions to combat climate change, making a real impact through event participation and skill development.
