UNPAID VOLUNTEER - Senior Personal Assistants, London

This is an unpaid volunteering role.

Role Title: Senior Personal Assistants

Location: Home-based

With 160 volunteers worldwide, BCI is a voluntary organisation recruiting new VOLUNTEERS for the role of Personal Assistant to the Director-General.

Responsibilities:

  1. Handle external correspondence for the Director-General;
  2. Manage and monitor email correspondence, respond and redirect as necessary, ensuring replies within deadlines;
  3. Schedule high-level meetings for the Director-General;
  4. Provide cover to Divisional Secretaries on an ad hoc basis;
  5. Work with the Senior Administrative Officer to ensure smooth operations of the Director-General’s Office;
  6. Implement and manage administrative processes;
  7. Undertake factual research as required;
  8. Support resource management duties and coordinate cross-divisional programs;
  9. Support the Director-General during conferences and events.

Requirements

Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent English oral communication skills for effective relationships with stakeholders;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing demands;
  • Support for technology-enabled meetings (video conferencing, Skype, digital calls);
  • High attention to detail and experience managing sensitive data;
  • Conscientious, proactive, solution-oriented, confident;
  • Proven experience in similar roles, preferably in fast-paced environments;
  • Experience working under pressure and meeting deadlines;
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook;
  • Knowledge of topics like climate change, climate finance, and blockchain technology is preferred.

Selection Process

We welcome candidates without prior experience, considering their skills demonstrated through written assessments. The process includes:

  1. Verbal and Numerical Reasoning test (20 questions);
  2. In-Tray Exercise (open-ended, role-relevant);
  3. Phone screening, online interviews.
