Turn this role into an interview — a resume and cover letter built around what this employer wants.
Workgroup seeks an Event Producer to own and run HR-focused events for senior leaders. You’ll lead speaker outreach, craft agendas, secure sponsorships, and drive attendance across the UK. The role offers remote-first days with travel to Manchester/Leeds. Training is provided and progression is performance-based.
Expect a starting salary of £28,000 with a 10% commission on profit, plus a flexible 35-hour week and generous annual leave; travel abroad occasionally may be required as events expand.
Own an event series. Meet the most senior HR Directors in the country. Make it yours.
Workgroup runs events for the most senior executives in the country: General Counsel, Chief Financial Officers, Chief People Officers, Chief Marketing Officers. We hate the old way of doing events: endless one-way presentations and thinly‑veiled sales pitches. So we don't do that.
We're a small, ambitious team, and every event genuinely belongs to the person running it. If that's you, you'll be trusted with real ownership fast, but backed properly while you learn the ropes.
We’re currently recruiting for an Event Producer (EP) to work in our Workgroup HR team making events for Chief People Officers and HR Directors.
As an Event Producer (EP), you'll take ownership of your own event series within one of our Branches (e.g. CFO, Legal, HR, CMO). Specifically, you'll be:
You’ll report to your Branch Director (BD), who sits across all of the events in your Branch (HR). During probation, you’ll work closely together as you learn how we make our amazing events so… well… amazing! At the start, they’ll guide you through each process, sign off any work that goes externally, and support you in landing huge speakers, writing stunning agendas, and delivering the best events in our industry.
However, once you’ve perfected the tools of our trade, understood the fundamentals of production, and built a track record of fantastic events, you’ll be given the autonomy to make your events your own. We’re looking for an ambitious perfectionist who, once they’ve learned our way, will take our winning formula and then take full ownership.
Speakers — seniority (the most senior in the country for your Branch), quantity (15–18), recognisable brands, and a visibly diverse agenda.
Attendees — seniority and quantity (50–60) while hitting the hitlists your sponsors give you.
Revenue — hitting the BUDGET / TARGET / STRETCH thresholds set for your event, with your BD's support on sponsorship.
This role is remote‑first day to day, but you'll need to be based within around an hour's travel of Manchester or Leeds as the events you’re running will be in these cities. You will also need to travel to some of your colleagues’ events across the UK, and maybe even abroad!
No events experience required - we'll train you from scratch as we’ve thrown the traditional events manual out of the window. What matters far more is charisma, sharp writing, relentless organisation, resilience, and ambition. Full detail is in the person specification below (and yes, the bonus points scheme is alive and well!)
