Location: – Hybrid split between our Glasgow Office (48 Milton Street, Glasgow, G4 0HR) and up to two days per week from home.

St Andrew’s First Aid has been saving lives since 1882. We are a trusted organisation, built into the fabric of Scotland and are well known for providing first aid cover at many events throughout the country as well as first aid education within communities and schools.

As Scotland’s leading first aid charity, St Andrew’s First Aid has an impressive country-wide network of First Aiders ready to provide support at hundreds of events each year. The organisation aims to provide the highest standards of first aid and to share their knowledge through training and education to the public.
The Role:
We are seeking an Event Officer to join our team.
Supporting the work we do, you will work closely with our volunteering team, customers and other key stakeholders.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
Principal Accountabilities
The post holder is responsible to the Corps Team Manager for the resourcing and co-ordination of first aid support at public events and supporting volunteers. This includes:
i) Agree quotes and arrange for the timely deployment of volunteers providing first aid cover at public events.
ii) Ensure that the pricing of quotes, and other aspects of local plans are in line with the organisation’s policies and procedures.
iii) To provide local event leads the information required to plan and organise cover for events, carry out risk assessments, nominate Duty Officers and produce operational orders.
(iv)Where appropriate, for major events, attend to provide organisational and logistical support.
(v) Communicate and work closely with the Event Administrator to ensure that all enquiries and bookings are responded to efficiently, recorded and processed accordingly.
In addition to the duties highlighted, the organisation operates a flexible approach to its activities and the post holder may accordingly be called upon to undertake any other duties from time to time as circumstances warrant.
Requirements:
This role would best suit an individual with a passion for and experience of volunteering or working in the third sector, or any other relevant experience.
The ideal person will be very people-orientated, pro-active and flexible, empathic, creative, persuasive, resourceful and imaginative.
You’ll be someone who is a real team player who can easily fit in with a diverse team of people. You’ll be outgoing, friendly with good communication skills and be able to fit in wherever the job takes you.
