Job summary

Westcountry Case Management is seeking a compassionate Female Support Worker in the Cwmbran area to assist a 25-year-old woman with physical and severe learning disabilities. The role requires a caring approach, flexibility and reliability, with about 44 hours over two weeks, including several evenings and alternate Saturdays.

You will support daily living, attend training, complete documentation and maintain professional boundaries, while coordinating with the case manager and family.

Qualifications

• Registered with or working towards registration with Social Care Wales.
• Full driving licence and own car essential.
• Health and Social Care qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

• Be aware of the problems that the client may have due to their physical and severe learning disability.
• Attend relevant training days and sessions when the opportunity arises.
• Attend staff meetings as requested.
• Complete relevant documentation as instructed.
• Use information technology such as email, intranet, electronic records etc.
• Carry out domestic chores as appropriate.
• Keep your own record of hours worked on the time sheet.
• Provide feedback to the case manager and family on progress/problems.
• Maintain professional boundaries with the client and their family members, adhering to direction from the case manager as appropriate.
• Be aware of the house rules, policies and procedures.
• Organise and manage own time according to delegated workload.
• Any other duties commensurate with the level of responsibility of this role.
