Job summary

East End Health Network is seeking an Enhanced Access Healthcare Assistant to support evening and weekend clinics across several GP practices in north-west Tower Hamlets. You will perform clinical observations, venepuncture, and ECGs under GPs and nurses, while maintaining accurate records.

Qualifications

• Care Certificate, NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care, or equivalent healthcare qualification.
• Evidence of healthcare assistant training.
• GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths.

Responsibilities

• Carry out observations (blood pressure, pulse, oxygen saturation, height, weight, BMI, temperature, urinalysis)
• Venepuncture and ECGs as directed
• Record clinical information accurately in the clinical system
• Support Enhanced Access clinics and long-term condition monitoring
• Assist with NHS Health Checks, smoking cessation, lifestyle and health promotion activities
• Maintain infection prevention and control, dignity, privacy and confidentiality
• Escalate patient welfare and clinical concerns promptly within competence
• Report incidents, accidents, near misses and safeguarding concerns
• Greet patients and reassure them during procedures
• Monitor stock and report equipment faults or shortages
• Work with the multidisciplinary team across PCN sites during evenings and weekends
• Support audit and quality improvement activities
