Job summary

University of Exeter is recruiting a Welfare Consultant to join the Welfare service for students. This campus-based role involves acting as the first point of contact for students in personal difficulty during the evening shift, coordinating responses and signposting to specialist support.

You will work within Wellbeing Services, liaising with staff across residences, academic colleges and external agencies, to ensure safe and supportive outcomes for students.

Qualifications

• Experience in student welfare or pastoral support is desirable.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Empathy, resilience and a solution-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide first response for students experiencing personal problems during the evening shift.
• Coordinate a timely, tailored welfare response and signpost to specialist support.
• Liaise with university staff, residences, security and external agencies as needed.
• Contribute to development and implementation of Welfare service policies.
