Job summary

Walsall Academy is seeking a part-time cleaner to join our premises team. The role requires hardworking, reliable individuals who can work well in a team and maintain high standards of cleanliness.

Hours are 3:15pm-6:15pm, Monday to Friday during term time (190 days) plus 10 professional development days. You will follow instructions from the Operations Manager and support safeguarding and health and safety policies.

Qualifications

• Must be hardworking, reliable and a good timekeeper.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Commitment to safeguarding and following school policies.

Responsibilities

• To be responsible for cleaning certain parts of the school site as allocated by the Operations Manager.
• To use cleaning materials as instructed by the Operations Manager.
• To vacuum carpeted areas and wash or mop floors and toilets in designated areas.
• To empty and clean bins and remove waste to designated areas.
• To spot clean spillages.
• To dust/wash desks, seats, ledges, skirting boards and other dusty areas.
• To regularly clean toilets and replenish toiletries.
• To cleanse hand basins in all toilets.
• To wash off marks on wall tiling and mirrors.
• To clean internal glass and door glass, and periodically windows.
• Carry out other duties as allocated by the Operations Manager.
• Report defects/hazards to Operations Manager.
• Uphold Nolan Principles and safeguarding policies.
• Adhere to Data Protection Act and maintain data confidentiality.
• Adhere to Academy Health and Safety Policy.
• Carry out other reasonable tasks as directed by Headteacher.
