Job summary

A well-established heavy engineering company in Dudley is seeking a Mechanical Fitter. The role involves carrying out fault diagnosis and maintenance on heavy machinery, alongside installing and repairing systems. Candidates should have a strong background in mechanical fitting with experience in large industrial equipment. The position offers a salary of £35,000, Monday to Friday evening shifts, and benefits including 25 days holiday plus bank holidays and overtime availability.

Qualifications

• Strong background in heavy engineering and mechanical fitting.
• Qualified via Mechanical/Electrical HNC or apprenticeship, hands-on experience preferred.
• Experience working with heavy industrial machinery or production equipment.
• Skills in welding, fabrication, machining, and mechanical troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out fault diagnosis, preventive and corrective maintenance on heavy industrial plant and equipment.
• Install, repair, and maintain mechanical transmissions, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Perform inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs using fabrication, welding, and machining techniques.
• Do routine maintenance, lubrication schedules, and safety checks.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and promote operational efficiency.
