Dumfries and Galloway College is recruiting a Kitchen Porter to support our evening cooking classes and help run a busy kitchen behind the scenes. You will assist chefs, keep the kitchen clean and safe, manage waste and maintain equipment, while contributing to a positive learning environment for students.

Full training provided; role is evening/part-time with flexible hours. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain practical kitchen experience and support our learners in a dynamic college

Competenze

• Reliable, practical and team-oriented with high cleanliness and safety standards.
• Ability to follow instructions and workplace procedures.
• Good attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Reliable and organised with an interest in kitchen/catering work.
• Previous kitchen or catering experience desirable but not essential; training provided.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Mansioni

• Washing dishes, utensils, pots, pans and kitchen equipment promptly and efficiently.
• Maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen work areas, floors, walls and storage areas.
• Supporting chefs with basic food preparation tasks when required.
• Ensuring kitchen equipment and work areas are clean and ready for use.
• Disposing of waste and recycling in accordance with health and safety procedures.
• Using cleaning materials and chemicals safely and storing them correctly.
• Following food hygiene, health and safety and College procedures at all times.
• Helping to maintain a safe, tidy and organised working environment.
