Job summary

RAD Hotel Group is seeking a Kitchen Porter for Hetland Hall Hotel in Dumfries and Galloway. The role supports a fast-paced kitchen, focusing on cleanliness, organisation and safety while enabling service excellence.

You will assist with basic food prep and work closely with the Head Chef and kitchen team to maintain high hygiene standards.

Qualifications

• Previous kitchen experience is a plus, but not essential.
• Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• A great team player with a willingness to learn and develop.
• Good attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
• Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning crockery, cutlery and kitchen equipment.
• Keeping the kitchen clean, organised and hygienic.
• Assisting with basic food preparation as directed by the Head Chef.
• Supporting the kitchen team with various tasks as needed.
• Ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy and safe throughout service.
• Assisting with waste management and maintaining high standards of kitchen hygiene.
• Supporting the wider kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.

As a Kitchen Porter, you’ll support the kitchen team by maintaining cleanliness and organisation, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment. This role is ideal for someone looking to gain experience and take on more responsibility in a fast-paced kitchen.
