Job summary

King’s Ely is seeking a part-time Evening Dining Hall Assistant to join our boarding community in Ely. You will work 5pm–8pm, Monday to Saturday, during term time plus 4 weeks and 12 Sundays.

Your duties include providing a high quality food service for evening meals, maintaining cleanliness, assisting with meal preparation and service, and helping ensure health and safety standards. A positive, team‑oriented attitude and good communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Quality food service to boarding community
• Maintain cleanliness and comply with Health & Safety at Work Act
• Carry out all aspects of food service and customer liaison as instructed by supervisor
• Prepare dining rooms and maintain cleanliness during service
• Cleaning duties including loading dishwasher, sweeping and mopping floors
• Adhere to Health & Safety and Food Safety legislation, reporting incidents
• Positive, can-do attitude to customer service and teamwork
• Training and professional development as appropriate

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality food service for evening meals to pupils, staff and visitors
• Maintain tidiness and cleanliness of dining areas
• Support the Evening Dining Hall Supervisor with service preparation and duties
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and food safety policies
• Contribute to a friendly, welcoming atmosphere in the dining hall
