Job summary

Genting Casinos UK Limited is seeking an experienced commis chef/cook to join our kitchen team in Newcastle upon Tyne. You will assist with food preparation and ensure the smooth operation of the kitchen, joining on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays from 17:00hrs. A strong team player with a focus on cleanliness and quality is essential.

You will uphold health and safety standards, manage stock rotation, assist with stocktaking and help maintain equipment and storerooms to high company standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in a kitchen and ability to follow approved recipes.
• Familiarity with Health & Safety standards and COSHH procedures.
• Ability to keep kitchen equipment clean and well maintained.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the maintenance and hygiene of all kitchen equipment.
• Prepare, cook and present all food to the required Company standards whilst adhering to approved recipes.
• Keep up to date and comply with Health, Safety and Hygiene regulations and Company Health & Safety policy including COSHH and food handling procedures.
• Ensure food is stored correctly and stock rotation procedures are followed at all times.
• Ensure daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules are adhered to according to company procedures.
• Be responsible for correct portion control, minimising wastage as appropriate.
• Assist with stocktaking according to company policy.
• Keeping the storerooms well stocked and organised.
