Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is looking for a General Assistant to join our kitchen team in Purfleet-on-Thames. You will assist with food preparation, maintain kitchen cleanliness and help with deliveries, while also serving customers and supporting events as a host when required.

The role emphasizes good time management, strong organisational skills, and reliable customer service. Training in food hygiene is provided if not already held, and the position requires the right to work in the UK.

Qualifications

• Commercial kitchen experience preferred.
• Basic Catering and Hospitality certificate such as Food Handling is desirable.
• Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure.
• Good organisational abilities.
• Must have the Right to Work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Help with food preparation tasks such as peeling, chopping, trimming, and making sandwiches and salads
• Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen area and equipment. This includes cleaning utensils, tableware, and catering stations
• Assist with receiving and unpacking all deliveries, ensuring that the food and supply storage areas are organised
• Serve food items to customers in accordance with the menu prepared by the Chefs. Our General Assistants may also act as a host/waiter when needed in events
