Job summary
Stagecoach Group in Sheffield seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the Ecclesfield depot through a major transformation, including a full site renovation and the move to a new EV fleet. The role focuses on safety, performance, reliability, and customer-ready service buses while shaping engineering culture.
You will manage a skilled team of engineers, technicians, and apprentices, oversee daily operations, budgets, and compliance, and collaborate with the Engineering Director on fleet
Qualifications
- Proven experience leading engineering teams.
- Experience with depot operations and safety compliance.
- Experience with EV fleet transitions.
- Strong planning and data-driven improvement mindset.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers, technicians, cleaners, and apprentices to ensure fleet safety and reliability.
- Oversee maintenance of 55 service buses and 2 training vehicles, including EV transition.
- Manage depot plant, workshop equipment, and building maintenance with a proactive H&S approach.
- Coordinate resource planning, stock control, procurement, and supplier relationships.
- Develop and coach staff to grow technical capability and career progression.
- Use data and performance insights to drive continuous improvement.
