Job summary

Net Zero Evolution is seeking an Electrical Field Service Engineer to commission, maintain and repair EV chargers across sites in the UK. You’ll be the uptime guardian for the network, handling diagnostics, firmware updates, and preventive maintenance with a hands-on, customer-facing approach.

You’ll work largely solo, on outdoor sites, using a range of chargers from AC to HPC. A valid UK driving licence, BS7671 knowledge and experience with rapid DC charging are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical with at least 2 years in a field-based role.
• Confident with a multimeter and voltage tester.
• Valid UK driving licence with 6 penalty points or fewer.
• 18th Edition (BS7671:2018) knowledge.
• C&G 2391/2394 Inspection and Testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical, mechanical and software faults on EV chargers.
• Run diagnostics, apply firmware updates and calibrate equipment.
• Replace faulty components and, when necessary, whole chargers following manufacturer guidelines.
• Carry out routine and preventive maintenance, commission and configure new chargers.
• Log every job in the service management system and report back to teams.
