Job summary

Ember, based in Dundee, is seeking a motivated Garage Support Technician to join their electric bus maintenance team. This hands-on role is perfect for someone with practical experience who is eager to learn and adapt within a busy workshop setting.

The ideal candidate will enjoy problem-solving and maintaining a unique fleet of electric vehicles. Full training will be provided to ensure success in keeping the buses operational. A full UK driving licence and good physical fitness are required.

Qualifications

• Some previous experience in a garage, workshop, transport, or similar practical/trade environment.
• A willingness to learn and take direction from qualified mechanics and technicians.
• Good physical fitness — this is an active, hands-on role.
• A responsible attitude towards Health & Safety in the workplace.
• Basic understanding of vehicle systems is beneficial but full training will be provided.
• Good timekeeping and reliability — our buses run to a schedule and so do we.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for solving immediate challenges to keep coaches on the road.
• Perform both planned and preventive maintenance.
• Work closely with qualified mechanics and technicians.
• Use technology and software systems for maintenance.
• Participate in all aspects of fleet maintenance.
