Job summary

Ember is launching a Dundee-based maintenance facility and seeks a hands-on Coach Builder and SMART Repair Technician to join the electric fleet team. You’ll lead end-to-end bodywork projects, align panels and prepare wraps in a busy workshop.

The role demands practical skill, a proactive mindset and the ability to work with high-voltage systems. You’ll collaborate with Dundee, Aberdeen, Livingston and Inverness teams, receive training and have access to the necessary tools.

Qualifications

• Technical Background: Experienced Coach Builder or SMART Repair Specialist, ideally with HGV/PSV or heavy commercial coach experience, but alternatives may be considered.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end ownership of bodywork projects, diagnosing alignments and carrying out panel adjustments.
• Lead wrap preparation and light bodywork prep for vinyl wrapping.
• Perform SMART repairs, fix paint defects, scratches and panel punctures.
• Estimate parts, timescales and support downtime reduction.
• Ensure Health, Safety and Environment compliance in a high-voltage workshop.
