Monzo is seeking a leader to head its European engineering organisation. You will build and scale a distributed team across squads and markets, partnering with product, design, data, and risk teams to drive strategy and delivery.

The role offers location flexibility within the UK, with regional offices and visa/relocation support. You will shape market expansion, governance, and multi-market product development, while aligning priorities across leadership levels and managing ambiguity to deliver

• Experience leading large engineering organisations through other leaders.
• Proven ability to operate in highly complex organisations with cross-team collaboration.
• Exceptional at building relationships and influencing without direct authority.
• Navigate ambiguity and create clarity where goals and priorities are not defined.
• Experience scaling organisations through growth, change or market expansion.
• Strong track record of building leadership teams and developing future leaders.

Responsabilidades

• Lead a distributed engineering organisation spanning multiple squads, markets and countries.
• Build and develop Engineering Managers, Senior Engineering Managers and senior technical leaders.
• Partner with Product, Design, Data, Research, Operations, Risk and Compliance to define Europe strategy.
• Drive alignment and execution across collectives to ensure Europe receives necessary capabilities.
• Shape market expansion, localisation, regulatory requirements and multi-market product development.
• Influence priorities across teams that do not report directly to you.
• Create clarity and momentum in ambiguous problem spaces with unclear ownership.
• Design and evolve structures, operating models and planning processes to scale Europe.
• Identify and validate product-market fit in new markets while balancing short-term delivery and long-term investments.
• Partner with executive leadership to shape Monzo's European business.
