Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment is partnering with a growing metal fabrication business in Mansfield to recruit an Estimator (Manufacturing). You will prepare quotations for architectural metalwork, sheet metal fabrication and structural steelwork, interpreting drawings and calculating material and labour costs.

Based in a weekday office role, you will obtain supplier quotations, conduct site surveys and manage project cost estimation while exploring progression into procurement and sales leadership.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Estimator in metalwork or fabrication environment.
• Background in Metal Fabrication or similar.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and calculate costs.

Responsibilities

• Review enquiries, drawings and specifications to establish scope and costs.
• Prepare detailed quotations for architectural metalwork, sheet metal fabrication and structural steelwork.
• Obtain and evaluate supplier/subcontractor pricing.
• Calculate material quantities and labour requirements.
• Conduct site visits and take measurements for estimates.
• Standard Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:30.

Mansfield

Are you an Estimator, with experience in the metalwork industry, looking to join a growing manufacturing company with exciting progression opportunities?

On offer is the opportunity to join a recently established, yet inherently stable, steel and aluminium fabrication company. Due to rapid expansion, the company is looking for an Estimator to take ownership of a diverse range of projects across architectural metalwork, events and staging, security, and industrial infrastructure.

You will be responsible for preparing estimates through a Statii ERP system. The process will include interpreting technical drawings, calculating material and labour costs, and obtaining supplier quotations.

There is potential for growth within the company, with the opportunity to move into a Director level position. This will diversify your responsibilities into different avenues, including procurement and sales.

The suitable candidate will have experience as an Estimator within a metalwork function. Training can be provided on specific software.

The Role

• Review customer enquiries, technical drawings and project specifications to establish scope and costs
• Prepare detailed quotations for architectural metalwork, sheet metal fabrication and structural steelwork
• Obtain and evaluate pricing from suppliers and subcontractors
• Calculate material quantities, labour requirements and associated project costs
• Conduct site visits and surveys, taking accurate measurements to support estimates
• Monday to Friday, 9 – 5:30
