Job summary

H9 Talent Solutions is seeking an Estimator in Barnsley to join an established engineering and construction team. You will prepare detailed estimates, review enquiries and drawings, and support tender submissions with a focus on accuracy and value.

This permanent role offers a 37.5-hour week, early finish on Fridays, and a pension scheme with additional benefits. Applicants with experience in steelwork, fabrication or metalwork are encouraged to apply.

H9 Talent Solutions is recruiting an Estimator for an established engineering and construction business in Barnsley.

You’ll join a collaborative team, preparing estimates and supporting tenders across a varied range of projects. This would suit someone who enjoys working with technical drawings, building accurate costs and developing relationships with clients.

The role

• Review enquiries, drawings and specifications.
• Prepare detailed estimates and competitive tender submissions.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and internal teams to gather information and clarify requirements.
• Identify commercial opportunities and potential risks.

What we’re looking for

• Previous estimating experience within engineering, manufacturing or construction.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Confident communication and organisational skills.
• Experience within steelwork, fabrication or metalwork would be advantageous.
• A relevant technical or engineering qualification is desirable.
