Energy Jobline CVL is seeking an Estimator in Alton, Hampshire. You will prepare accurate cost estimates for high-precision engineering components and assemblies, reviewing drawings and specifications while managing bid processes and supplier pricing.

Qualificações

• Mechanical engineering background with purchasing or estimating experience.

Key Responsibilities

As an Estimator, you'll play a key role in preparing accurate and commercially competitive estimates for the manufacture and supply of high-precision engineering components and assemblies.

• Review technical engineering drawings and specifications
• Prepare detailed project cost estimates covering materials, labour, equipment and subcontractor costs
• Manage the end-to-end bid process, including proposals and bid management
• Work closely with customers, suppliers, vendors and internal teams
• Obtain competitive pricing and lead times from suppliers
• Support the sourcing and manufacture of components for projects
• Produce spend and production capacity forecasts
• Identify opportunities to improve cost effectiveness
• Plan and manage your workload to meet strict deadlines

What we're looking for

You'll ideally have a strong mechanical engineering background combined with purchasing, estimating or commercial experience within an engineering or manufacturing environment.

• Mechanical engineering experience, ideally supported by an indentured apprenticeship or equivalent
• At least 5 years' purchasing experience within engineering or manufacturing
• Confident reading engineering drawings with a good understanding of GD&T
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, raw materials and costing methodologies
• Strong negotiation and commercial skills
• Excellent numerical, analytical and Excel skills
• Highly organised with meticulous attention to detail
• Confident communicator with a professional and positive approach
• A proactive problem solver who can work independently and as part of a team
• Comfortable working to deadlines in a demanding environment
