Job summary

Emtec Utility Services in Scotland is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team at the Uddingston office. You will play a key role in tender submissions from enquiry through to delivery.

You will work with design, commercial and operational teams to review project requirements, prepare detailed costings and develop practical solutions that meet technical standards and client expectations. This is a great opportunity to contribute to exciting utilities projects and grow with our expanding

Qualifications

• Experience in estimating for electrical utilities, infrastructure or similar.
• Degree or HNC in engineering or commercial discipline is beneficial.
• Experience using AutoCAD to produce design and as-fitted drawings.
• Knowledge of current DNO and INA regulations, codes of practice and legislative requirements.
• Ability to interpret specifications and technical drawings.
• Understanding contracts, conditions and obligations.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed take-offs and bills of quantities for tender opportunities.
• Produce accurate customer quotations and project costings.
• Complete quotation letters, PQQs and ITT submissions.
• Review specifications and drawings for accuracy and buildability.
• Support early design and development of potential contracts.
• Assist with planning and preparation of larger projects.
• Develop strong relationships with suppliers for competitive pricing.
• Collaborate with internal teams to produce high-quality tender submissions.
