Estimator – Civil Engineering

Bristol Area

£50,000 to £60,000 plus package

Established over 30 years ago, the company is a prominent presence within the civils sector and has a proven track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects. Their portfolio includes highways, bridges, major earthworks, energy infrastructure, and major commercial / industrial infrastructure projects.

ROLE:

1. The ability to analyse project drawings, contracts, and specifications to determine scope, materials, and key requirements.
2. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and designers to gather critical project data.
3. Prepare detailed cost estimates for labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
4. Identify and implement cost-saving measures and value engineering opportunities.
5. Develop comprehensive bid packages, including cost breakdowns, schedules, and client proposals.
6. Lead bid meetings and negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing.
7. Assess potential project risks and integrate contingency strategies into bids.
8. Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and suppliers.
9. Utilize advanced construction estimating software and Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
