Job summary

Rogers McHugh is seeking an Estimator to price drylining packages from pre-construction through tender submission across the North East & Midlands region. The role requires collaboration with Main Contractors and internal teams to ensure competitive, commercially sound tenders.

• Understanding of drylining, interior fit-out, or construction processes.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with Main Contractors.
• Willingness to travel within the Newcastle to Coventry region.
• Proactive, organised and commercially aware.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for drylining packages.
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation.
• Carry out detailed take-offs and pricing of labour and materials.
• Attend and contribute to pre-construction meetings.
• Build and maintain relationships with Main Contractors and key clients.
• Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to obtain best-value pricing.
• Assist in value engineering and alternative proposals where required.
• Support the commercial and operational teams during tender handover.

Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Company Overview

We are a well-established drylining subcontractor with a strong and growing presence across the UK residential and student accommodation sectors. Due to continued workload and expansion of our drylining division, we are looking to appoint an Estimator to join the business as soon as possible.

Role Overview

The Estimator will be responsible for pricing drylining packages from pre-construction through to tender submission. The role will involve close collaboration with Main Contractors, commercial teams, and internal delivery teams to ensure accurate, competitive, and commercially sound tenders.

This position would suit someone from either a main contracting or subcontracting background, and we are also open to considering graduates or junior candidates with the right attitude and potential.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for drylining packages
• Analyse drawings, specifications, and tender documentation
• Carry out detailed take-offs and pricing of labour and materials
• Attend and contribute to pre-construction meetings
