Job summary

PSR Solutions is partnering with a leading UK main contractor to appoint a Mid-Level Estimator for the pre-construction team in Reading. You will work on a varied portfolio of projects, producing detailed estimates and tender documents, while collaborating with design, commercial, and client teams to deliver competitive costs.

The role offers progression, a supportive culture and the chance to contribute to budgets and cost plans within a reputable contractor.

Qualifications

• Construction related degree / qualifications
• 4+ years Estimating experience
• Worked for a main contractor across various sectors
• Proficient using estimating software & Microsoft packages

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates and tenders for a range of construction projects
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes and tender docs
• Produce accurate bills of quantities and pricing schedules
• Obtain and analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identify risks, opportunities and value engineering options
• Liaise with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
• Support tender submissions and commercial reviews
• Work with pre-construction, design and commercial teams
• Contribute to budgets and cost plans
• Ensure estimates are accurate, competitive and timely

We're working with a highly respected large UK main contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering complex, high-quality construction projects across a range of sectors.

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of work, they are looking to appoint a Mid-Level Estimator to join their pre-construction team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Estimator who is ready to take the next step in their career, working on a varied portfolio of projects alongside an experienced and supportive pre-construction team.

Estimator Roles & Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed estimates and tenders for a range of construction projects
• Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes and tender documentation
• Producing accurate bills of quantities and pricing schedules
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identifying risks, opportunities and value engineering options
• Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers
• Supporting the preparation of tender submissions and commercial reviews
• Working closely with the pre-construction, design and commercial teams
• Contributing to the development of project budgets and cost plans
• Ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive and delivered within agreed deadlines
