Estimator - Main Contractor
London Permanent 50,000- 90,000 DOE Career Progression
A growing main contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Estimator to join its commercial/pre-construction team on a long-term basis.
You'll be joining a busy team with a strong pipeline of work and will have the opportunity to take responsibility for multiple tenders at different stages.
The role will typically involve managing around 3-4 live tenders at any one time, working closely with the wider commercial and operational teams to develop competitive and commercially sound bids.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing and pricing live tenders from enquiry through to submission
• Taking ownership of multiple tenders simultaneously
• Preparing detailed and accurate estimates
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Working closely with commercial and operational teams
• Identifying risks, opportunities and commercial considerations
• Maintaining accurate estimating spreadsheets and cost plans
• Supporting the wider pre-construction process
• Building strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers

They are open to candidates from Intermediate Estimator through to Senior Estimator level, with the ideal candidate likely to have around 5 years+ experience within the construction industry.
You'll ideally have:

• Strong estimating experience within a main contracting environment
• Experience working on live tenders
• Excellent Excel and spreadsheet skills
• Strong commercial awareness
• The ability to manage multiple tenders and competing deadlines
• Confidence working independently and taking ownership
• Strong attention to detail
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Ambition to progress within a growing business

Salary & Progression

50,000- 90,000 depending on level and experience.
