Job summary

Stirling Warrington Ltd in Nottingham is seeking a Technical Estimator to prepare accurate, commercially competitive quotations for new and existing customers. You will analyse drawings and specifications to estimate costs and support profitability.

You will work with customers, suppliers, production and engineering teams to ensure estimates reflect capability and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in technical estimating or a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate quotations from customer drawings, specifications and enquiries.

• Calculate material, machining, tooling, subcontract and labour costs.
• Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotations for materials and subcontract services.
• Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure estimates reflect manufacturing capability.
• Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency and reduce production costs.
• Maintain accurate quotation records and customer information.
• Support the sales team with technical information throughout the quotation process.
• Build and maintain positive customer and supplier relationships.
• Respond to quotation requests within agreed timescales.
• Assist with contract reviews and customer enquiries where required.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the business.

Technical Estimator

Location: Nottingham

Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (DOE)

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

We are recruiting for an established and growing precision engineering and manufacturing business based in Nottingham. The company specialises in the manufacture of high-quality machined components for customers across a range of industries and is now looking to appoint a motivated and detail-oriented Technical Estimator to join its commercial team.

The Role

As Technical Estimator, you will play a key role in supporting business growth by preparing accurate and commercially competitive quotations for both new and existing customers.

Working closely with customers, suppliers, production, engineering and sales teams, you will review engineering drawings and technical specifications to assess manufacturing requirements, estimate production costs and prepare quotations that support both customer requirements and business profitability.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in technical estimating, precision engineering or a manufacturing environment who enjoys working with technical information, solving problems and managing multiple quotations.

The successful candidate will be organised, commercially aware and confident working with technical information.

You will have excellent attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple quotations while working to deadlines. You will also be comfortable communicating with colleagues, customers and suppliers at all levels.
