Job summary

Rubicon People Partnership is seeking an Estimator to interpret detailed engineering drawings and produce accurate quotations for a busy subcontract machine shop in the UK. You will liaise with customers and suppliers, applying machine tool knowledge to ensure competitive pricing and timely quotes.

The role requires apprentice-trained, time-served engineering experience with CNC turning and milling, and a background in AS9100 quality environments.

Qualifications

• Apprentice trained, time served engineer with hands on manufacturing experience.
• Both turning and milling experience within CNC machining.
• Proven background in a busy sub-contract machine shop environment.
• Experience working within an AS9100 or similar quality environment.
• Involvement in continuous improvement and process change projects.
• Confident user of Microsoft Office, including Excel.

Responsibilities

• Interpret detailed engineering drawings to produce accurate quotations.
• Complete quotations within agreed timescales.
• Liaise with customers and suppliers to clarify requirements and pricing.
• Apply knowledge of machine tool capabilities and production methods to each quote.
• Work closely with the team to reach pricing that works for both business and customer.
• React quickly and calmly to shifting business priorities.
