Job summary

Caval in Manchester is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our growing commercial fit out team, delivering nationwide projects. You will prepare accurate estimates for CAT A/B office fit outs and liaise with design, procurement and delivery teams.

The role requires a strong main contractor background, extensive tendering experience, and the ability to manage cost plans from £200k to £15m while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial fit out projects.
• Main contractor background is essential.
• Experience estimating CAT A and CAT B office fit outs is highly desirable.
• Experience pricing projects from £200k to £15 million.
• Nationwide project experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate estimates for commercial fit out projects (£200k-£15m).
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and client requirements.
• Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive tender returns.
• Develop detailed cost plans, bills of quantities and tender submissions.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients throughout the tender process.
• Attend site visits, client meetings and tender interviews where required.
• Support the preparation of tender programmes and key deadlines.
• Ensure estimates are accurate, commercially viable and submitted on time.

Job Description

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Estimator to join a growing commercial fit out main contractor. This is an excellent opportunity for an estimator with a strong main contractor background to join an established business delivering high-quality commercial fit out projects nationwide.

Duties

• Prepare accurate and competitive estimates for commercial fit out projects ranging from £200k-£15 million.
• Review drawings, specifications, scopes, and client requirements.
• Analyse subcontractor and supplier quotations to ensure competitive tender returns.
• Work closely with the pre-construction, design, procurement and delivery teams.
• Identify project risks, opportunities, exclusions, and commercial considerations.
• Assist with value engineering and buildability reviews.
• Develop detailed cost plans, bills of quantities and tender submissions.
• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients throughout the tender process.
• Attend site visits, client meetings and tender interviews where required.
• Support the preparation of tender programmes and key deadlines.
• Ensure estimates are accurate, commercially viable and submitted within deadlines.
• Assist with the handover from estimating into the project delivery team.
• Build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to support competitive pricing.

Sector Experience

• Commercial fit out projects only.
• Experience working for a Design & Build commercial fit out main contractor is essential.
• Strong estimating and commercial experience.
• Experience estimating CAT A and CAT B office fit outs is highly desirable.
• Experience pricing projects ranging from £200k-£15 million.
• Nationwide project experience preferred.
