Job summary

Aldwych Consulting Ltd is recruiting in London for an Estimator/Assistant Estimator to join the Pre-Construction team. You will prepare competitive tenders from enquiry through submission, collaborate with clients and the supply chain, and develop cost plans for Cat A/B fit-out and refurbishment projects.

The role offers progression within a growing contractor, modern London office and hybrid working options being explored.

Qualifications

• Experience producing competitive tenders for commercial fit out/refurbishment projects.
• Strong capability with BOQs, measurement and pricing of subcontractor packages.
• Proficiency with Excel and estimating software such as Causeway or Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Preparing accurate cost estimates for commercial fit out and refurbishment projects.
• Completing detailed plan take-offs and Bills of Quantities (BOQs).
• Issuing subcontractor enquiries and analysing quotations.
• Carrying out cost analysis and benchmarking.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities without compromising quality.
• Liaising with clients, consultants and internal teams throughout the tender process.
• Supporting successful project handovers to delivery teams.

Join a Growing London Fit Out Contractor

We're working with a well-established London fit out contractor with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality Cat A and Cat B commercial office projects across the capital.

Due to continued growth and an expanding order book, they're looking to strengthen their Pre-Construction team with the appointment of either an ambitious Assistant Estimator ready to take the next step or an experienced Estimator looking to progress into a Senior Estimator position.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business that's actively expanding into the Cut & Carve and Structural Refurbishment market, including façade and external works, offering genuine long-term career progression.

You'll report directly to the Head of Pre-Construction and play a key role in securing a diverse range of commercial projects across London.

The Role

You'll be responsible for producing competitive and commercially viable tenders from enquiry through to submission, working closely with clients, supply chain partners and the wider pre-construction team.

About You

We're interested in speaking with candidates from a variety of commercial construction backgrounds, including:

• Cat A & Cat B Commercial Fit Out
• Shell & Core
• Commercial Interiors

You'll ideally have experience with:

• BOQs and measurement
• Subcontractor procurement and pricing
• Cost planning and tender preparation
• Excel and estimating software such as Causeway or Bluebeam
