Job summary

MK Consult is recruiting an Estimator to secure new projects by preparing accurate tender submissions for residential and general construction developments across the North West and wider UK. The role requires strong commercial awareness and ability to thrive in a fast-paced tendering environment.

Key duties include preparing cost estimates, reviewing drawings, obtaining quotations, and identifying value engineering opportunities.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator within the construction industry.
• Experience pricing new build housing, residential or general construction projects.
• Able to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
• Proficient with estimating software and Microsoft Office.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions.
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations.
• Identifying value engineering opportunities.
• Producing bills of quantities and pricing schedules.
• Attending pre-tender and post-tender meetings.
• Liaising closely with clients, consultants and the operational teams.

Estimator - New Build Housing & Construction

MK Consult are working with an established and growing construction contractor to recruit an experienced Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful business delivering a diverse range of new build housing and construction projects across the North West and wider UK.

This role will suit an ambitious Estimator who enjoys working on a variety of projects, has a strong commercial awareness, and thrives in a fast-paced tendering environment.

The Role

As Estimator, you will play a key role in securing new projects by preparing accurate and competitive tender submissions across residential and construction developments.

Key responsibilities include:

• Preparing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and contract documents
• Obtaining and evaluating subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identifying value engineering opportunities
• Producing bills of quantities and pricing schedules

About You
