Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd in the UK is seeking an experienced Estimator to join their team. You will manage customer enquiries from initial specification through to quotation, review engineering drawings, determine manufacturing methods and prepare accurate costings for bespoke metal POS products.

Working closely with customers and internal production teams, you will ensure quotations are commercially competitive while reflecting material, labour and finishing costs.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating for sheet metal fabrication or related manufacturing.
• Ability to read engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Proven track record producing accurate cost estimates for bespoke products.

Our client is a specialist manufacturer of point-of-sale metal products and display solutions, supplying high-quality fabricated metal products to customers across a range of commercial sectors. They are looking to recruit an experienced Estimator to join their team and play a key role in supporting new and existing customer projects.

The Role

This is a hands‑on estimating position responsible for managing customer enquiries from initial specification through to quotation. You will review drawings and customer requirements, determine manufacturing methods and prepare accurate costings for bespoke metal point‑of‑sale products.

Working closely with customers and internal production teams, you will ensure quotations are commercially competitive while accurately reflecting material, labour and manufacturing costs.

About You

• Previous experience as an Estimator, Cost Engineer, Sales Estimator or similar
• Experience within sheet metal, fabrication, metal products, displays, POS or a related manufacturing environment
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
• Experience calculating material, labour and manufacturing costs
• Good understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processesStrong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Confident communicating with customers, suppliers and internal teams
• Highly organised with good time management skills
• Comfortable managing multiple quotations and priorities simultaneously
• Proactive, commercially minded and able to work independently
