Job summary

Fisher Civils Ltd is seeking a Senior Estimator to take ownership of major civil engineering tenders and contribute to ongoing growth. The role covers groundworks, infrastructure and related sectors, with bids from £1m to £20m+ and close liaison with clients and supply chains.

You will manage tender documentation, review drawings, prepare robust estimates and support the handover to delivery, working within a proactive commercial team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an Estimator/Senior Estimator within civil engineering.
• Strong knowledge of groundworks, infrastructure and/or general civil engineering.
• Experience pricing projects from ~£1m to £20m+.
• Excellent understanding of construction costs, labour, plant, materials and subcontract packages.
• Strong ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of the estimating function.
• Experience using estimating/tendering software and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of UK construction contracts and procurement processes.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

We are working with an established and growing civil engineering contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Senior Estimator to join their commercial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Estimator who is looking to take ownership of major tenders and play a key role in the continued growth of the business.

The successful candidate will have a strong background within civil engineering, groundworks, infrastructure or related sectors, with the ability to manage estimates from initial enquiry through to final submission.
