Job summary

STRABAG UK is seeking an Estimating Manager based in Stafford to lead the estimating team and deliver competitive cost estimates for HV substation and wider T&D projects across the UK.

You will work with engineering, procurement and project delivery teams to develop robust tender submissions, identify risks and drive cost optimisation while upholding STRABAG UK's standards and growth goals.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in estimating/cost planning within power, transmission and distribution sectors.
• Experience leading an estimating team and delivering tender submissions on time.
• Strong understanding of cost drivers, risk and opportunity in large infrastructure projects.
• Proven ability to develop and review detailed cost estimates for complex projects.
• Familiarity with NEC contracts and tender pricing implications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the estimating team to deliver timely, accurate tender submissions.
• Oversee cost estimates for substation, transmission and distribution projects across the UK.
• Develop and maintain estimating standards, data templates and benchmarking information.
• Review tender documents, drawings and specifications to define scope and cost drivers.
• Prepare and validate estimates for labour, plant, materials, subcontractors and overheads.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement and commercial teams for accurate inputs.
• Contribute to tender strategy and value engineering opportunities.
• Assess risks, contractual obligations and programme constraints to ensure robust estimates.
