Job summary

CBRE is seeking an Estates Technical Manager to provide technical assurance across the Estates and Engineering portfolio. Based in Brixton, you will review compliance, maintenance records and asset information while supporting Heads of Maintenance and Engineering Managers.

You will lead investigations into failures and manage Hard FM contractors to drive safe, reliable operations. The role requires broad engineering knowledge, strong reporting skills and the ability to work across multiple

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in mechanical/electrical/building services engineering or related discipline.
• Substantial estates/engineering maintenance experience.
• Experience with statutory compliance, planned maintenance and safety systems.
• Experience reviewing technical records, compliance evidence and asset data.
• Experience managing Hard FM contractors and service providers.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical assurance across mechanical, electrical and building services.
• Review compliance, maintenance records and certification for accuracy.
• Assess safe systems of work and permits, flag weaknesses.
• Investigate failures and recurring defects, propose corrective actions.
• Oversee Hard FM contractors and direct service providers.
• Maintain statutory inspection registers and action remedial work promptly.
• Analyse maintenance data to identify gaps and risks.
• Review resilience and critical infrastructure, contingency plans.
• Support project commissioning and handover with proper documentation.
• Coordinate with Heads of Maintenance and project teams across campuses.
