We’re looking for a motivated and hands-on Estates Team Leader to help ensure our college remains a safe, well-maintained and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors. If you take pride in high standards, enjoy leading a team, and can balance day-to-day operations with forward planning, we’d love to hear from you.

About the Role

As an Estates Team Leader, you will support the delivery of excellent estates and maintenance services across a cluster of campuses. You’ll supervise and coordinate an estates team responsible for day-to-day maintenance, building operations, compliance tasks and general campus upkeep, ensuring all areas are safe, well-presented and fully functional.

You’ll be a key point of contact for staff and contractors, helping to maintain smooth operations and a high-quality service for the entire college community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, support and schedule the Estates team to deliver efficient, customer-focused services.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations including planned and reactive maintenance, room setups, inspections and building checks.
  • Ensure statutory and internal compliance tasks are completed, documented and followed up as required.
  • Liaise with contractors, internal teams and external partners to support repairs, servicing and project work.
  • Respond to urgent issues or incidents, ensuring safe resolution and clear communication.
  • Monitor quality standards across campus, taking proactive steps to maintain a high-quality, well-kept environment.
  • Support continuous improvement, contributing ideas to enhance processes, safety and service delivery.
  • Work closely with curriculum and other professional services departments to support day-to-day operations and events.
About You

You’ll be someone who is organised, proactive and committed to delivering excellent service. You will bring:

  • Experience in an estates, facilities, maintenance or building operations role.
  • Strong communication and team-leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and support others.
  • Good understanding of health & safety, statutory compliance and safe working practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise effectively in a busy environment.
  • Practical, hands-on approach with the ability to complete a range of operational tasks.
  • The confidence to liaise with contractors, manage workflows and follow up on outstanding actions.
