Job summary

Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Estates division seeks an experienced Programme Manager to oversee professional services consultancy and contractor partners for capex programmes. The role sits in Corporate Transformation and drives delivery across a broad portfolio of projects.

You will work with Estates colleagues and a wide range of supply chain partners to ensure cost-effective, timely delivery, with governance and reporting at the core of decision making.

Qualifications

• Experience leading large-scale capital projects within government or public sector.
• Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder networks and governance.
• Strong cost control, risk management and reporting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver a comprehensive strategy for stakeholder management and engagement with senior clients and supply chain partners.
• Define robust processes to ensure long-term DWP sites are fit for purpose and optimised for occupancy.
• Evaluate and approve project feasibility reports and business cases.
• Prepare and approve budgets, cost plans, and schedules; manage cost and programme parameters.
• Lead end-to-end delivery of projects, including design, procurement, and contract management.
• Oversee governance, reporting, and change control across RIBA stages; escalate variances as needed.
• Ensure compliance with EHS standards and BIM/Government soft landings where appropriate.
