Job summary

Preston Hedges Trust seeks an experienced estates, facilities or operations leader to shape and deliver a multi-site estates and operations service across our schools. You will work with site teams and leadership to ensure safe, well-maintained and welcoming environments for children and staff.

Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, you will blend strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadership, driving sustainability, compliance and value-for-money through centralised procurement

Qualifications

• Experience in estates, facilities or operations management across multi-site organisations.
• Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation (COSHH, asbestos, fire safety, water hygiene).
• Experience managing health and safety systems, audits and maintenance schedules.
• Experience leading operational or site teams across locations.
• Proven track record in contract management and procurement focusing on value for money.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of a consistent estates and operations service across the Trust.
• Combine strategic oversight with practical operational leadership; support Site Managers and principals.
• Oversee health, safety, compliance and environmental risk management with robust assurance reporting.
• Centralise contracts, negotiate with suppliers and manage contractor performance.
• Drive sustainability and decarbonisation through energy efficiency and waste reduction.
• Embed processes to integrate new schools into the Trust and ensure effective operations from day one.
