Job summary

National Highways is seeking an Estates Net Zero Project Manager to lead capital delivery schemes that decarbonise the estate, install renewable energy technologies and improve energy and water efficiency across depots, offices, and control centres.

The role sits in the Energy and Sustainability team within the Estates & Facilities Management division and reports to the Energy & Sustainability Manager. Travel to regional offices is required.

Qualifications

• Degree and/or relevant professional qualification in carbon management, climate change or related field.
• Full Member of APM (Association for Project Management) accreditation.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and external partners across multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver capital projects to decarbonise the estate, install solar PV or other renewables, and improve energy and water efficiency.
• Lead end-to-end project management from inception to handover, including design, procurement and installation.
• Manage data improvement actions: metering upgrades, building management systems and smart controls.
• Identify risks, issues and dependencies and manage contractors, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Build robust business cases and secure investment for decarbonisation initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with statutory, financial, contract and health & safety requirements.
